ENG 387 Toni Morrison

A study of one of America's foremost living writers, one whose work seeks to reimagine the lives of African-Americans from the early settlements in North America to the present day. Her works delve into issues of race, class, and gender in ways that are challenging and moving. We will focus on a selection of works from her fifty-year career including Song of Solomon, Beloved, and A Mercy. Students will analyze her works through presentations, discussion, examinations, and papers.
