REL 385 Sufism and Islamic Spirituality
This course explores the spiritual and mystical dimensions of the Islamic tradition. Despite common stereotypes of Islam, Muslims have long cultivated a variety of teachings and practices designed to bring the individual into personal contact with the divine. In this course, we grapple with some of the most profound insights of the Islamic tradition as we survey the history of Islamic spirituality, including, though not limited to, Sufism.
