POL 468 Globalization and the Challenges of Development in Ghana
This course provides an introduction to globalization. It draws primarily on texts from Ghana and other countries in the global South to explore a variety of themes central to an understanding of the processes of globalization. These themes include the concept of globalization, its historical dimensions, the changing role and nature of the state in an era of globalization, the manifestations of globalization in different sectors of the economy, its multiple impacts on citizens of the global South and the ways in which citizens of the global South have responded to these changes.
