Extramural funding for Research and Scholarship
Faculty members are encouraged to seek external funds and resources in support of their research and scholarship. Such funding and/or in-kind support may be available from federal, state, local, or private organizations, and faculty members are expected to work with the Sponsored Research Office (SRO) well in advance of submitting a proposal. The SRO is willing and able to help craft an effective proposal, including identifying granting agencies, communicating with the agencies program officer(s), reviewing proposal outlines and drafts prior to submission, helping prepare the budget, and gathering institutional documents and support letters. This takes time, so it is never too early to meet with the SRO. Please refer to the Centre College Proposal Preparation and Award Management Guide for more information.
The Associated Colleges of the South (ACS) frequently administers competitive grants that they obtain from various foundations. Go to http://www.colleges.org for more information.
