Summer Study Grants

The Faculty Development Committee administers several internal funds for summer study and research and receives applications in the following categories:

  1. research, scholarly writing, or intensive practice of one's art;
  2. course work, institutes, or other activities promoting professional development in one's field;
  3. course work, institutes, workshops, and other activities designed to increase a faculty member's ability to teach outside his or her specialty;
  4. curricular and course design outside one's professional training or specialty;
  5. collaborative research with more than one faculty member and more than one student (Alcock);
  6. collaborative work with students that involves off-campus work (Metzger);
  7. collaborative work with students (FDC funds);
  8. travel abroad for language faculty to countries where the language(s) they teach is spoken, for purpose of study (J. David Grissom Fund).
