President's Letter
Dear Students:
Welcome! The 2022-2023 year awaits, and it promises to be a remarkable one! We are excited to have you join us for the first time or as a returning member of the Centre community. This year we are more committed than ever to supporting each other and continuing to maintain and grow the amazing educational and social experience at Centre.
The beginning of any school year brings with it feelings of anticipation, excitement, adventure, joy, and gratitude. We hope you bring your adventurous spirit to Centre. There has never been a more important time in our world for you to work and study with our world-class faculty on solving the tough issues that face our communities and world. We look forward to supporting you as you pursue a purpose-driven education at Centre.
This document describes in some detail our policies at Centre that enable all of us to live together in a vibrant, intense, and diverse academic community. These policies work because you, as Centre students, are responsible people who value every other person in the community and offer them the same dignity and kindness they themselves expect. Our personal freedom is based on our community responsibilities. By caring for each other and developing empathy for others in our daily lives, we engender community bonds that benefit each of us individually.
You will find that the faculty, staff, facilities, organizations, and activities at Centre have a common purpose – to provide you with a challenging and rich experience of intellectual and personal growth. We want you to have four years of thoughtful preparation, so that you can have a lifetime of meaningful impact. At Centre, you can live and lead in a dynamic and changing world. We look forward to working together to broaden our respect for diversity of thought and lived experiences, becoming leaders who are adaptable and innovative in embracing current and future challenges. Let’s all use this year to embrace the unfamiliar, think creatively, and work together to build better communities at Centre, in our region, and across our world.
Sincerely,
Milton Moreland
President
