ARS 332 Identity in Ceramics Art
Focusing on themes of identity, this course is an intermediate ceramic studio experience which includes art theory and ceramic history. Processing, forming, and firing are studied in concert with an aesthetic consideration of the articulation of form, surface decoration, and conceptual thinking. Students will research, observe and discuss artworks created by ceramic artists from marginalized groups. Projects will prompt students to incorporate their own identity into their hand-built and wheel-throw artworks. Prerequisite: ARS 230 or equivalent.
