PSY 385 Psychology of Race and Ethnicity
This course examines the psychological underpinnings of race and ethnicity and their influence on individual and group behavior. Students develop an awareness of the social and psychological processes by which conceptions of race and ethnicity are formed and maintained, the contributors to racial and ethnic identity, and their implications for intergroup interactions and racial disparities. Finally, students investigate how prejudice and discrimination are formed and how they can be reduced.
