Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)
Located on the 3rd floor in Crounse Hall (phone extension 5288), the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides a variety of instructional supports.
CTL staff members are available for confidential meetings with individual faculty members or programs on any aspect of teaching and learning. They are also available for formative class observations and midterm course evaluations. The CTL organizes and sponsors a variety of teaching and learning events and groups throughout the year as well, including specialized workshops, Learning Communities, Pedagogy Luncheons, and New Faculty Orientation. Resources for course innovation and travel to pedagogical meetings are also available through the CTL. Please visit the CTL website for more information.
Support for community based learning (CBL) is located within the CTL. CBL is an experience-based pedagogical approach that intentionally links what is being taught in the classroom to the surrounding communities. CBL is grounded in the recognition that all communities have educational assets that can enhance learning experiences for students and that our students can contribute to our communities. CTL staff are available to help design courses to integrate CBL effectively, design reflective assignments, connect with potential community partners and troubleshoot logistical challenges. For more on the CBL and other support for experiential leaning, visit the CTL website.
