Center for Global Citizenship (CGC) (International and Domestic off-campus programs and International Students)

CGC MISSION: To prepare students for lives of global leadership, work, and service, and to further internationalize our campus.  This mission requires a focus on facilitating rich and meaningful experiences for our students, both on and off campus, in order to strengthen their intercultural competence.  We empower our students to embrace the values of global citizenship, striving to build a more just, inclusive, sustainable, and cooperative world.

The Off-Campus Programs Committee has responsibility for oversight of all study-away programs and reports directly to the Dean of the College. The Director of Global Citizenship serves on that committee and functions as the day-to-day manager of the various programs.

Any member of the faculty wishing to lead an international study opportunity for students during CentreTerm or summer should contact the CGC director or any member of the committee, which reviews applications and advises the Dean of the College on those selections in early November.

Directors of the College's long-term overseas programs are approved by the Dean of the College after applications are evaluated by a sub-committee of the OCPC, including the Director and Assistant Director of the CGC. The Director of the CGC solicits applications for CentreTerm and Summer courses at least fifteen months before a program begins, thus giving the academic programs ample opportunity to plan appropriately for the absence of one of their professors.
