Health Promotion

The Office of Health Promotion is located on the second floor of the Campus Center in the Intercultural Suite and is staffed by a Director of Health Promotion and an Assistant Director of Health Promotion.  The Office of Health Promotion works to create a student-centered approach to support holistic well-being using evidence-based practices, innovation, and theory to deliver sustainable programs and environmental support. Health Promotion seeks to enable Centre students with the skills, attitudes, and behaviors to be successful in and out of the classroom as it relates to well-being.  The Office of Health Promotion utilizes a wide range of social and environmental interventions to allow increasing control over well-being and improve overall health, including increasing wellness spaces and opportunities on campus.

The Health Promotion team works closely with other offices on campus to host events that raise awareness, provide education and build skills to improve personal and community well-being.

Through individual coaching, group workshops, outreach programming and assessment, we educate and support on topics including but not limited to:

  • Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention
  • Recovery from substance use disorder
  • Body Image
  • Nutrition
  • Financial Literacy
  • Mental Health
  • Health Equity
  • Sexual Health
  • Violence Prevention
