ARH 432 Tableware: Utility Meets Aesthetics

From fine china to Fiesta ware, “form follows function” has been the fundamental concept of historic and contemporary craftspeople around the world. In this advanced studio art course students will build upon knowledge and skills practiced in ceramics classes, with a focus on the research and development of wheel-thrown tableware. Intentionality of form, craftsmanship, surface design and utility will be the main themes throughout each creative project. Prerequisites: ARS 230 or 233
