BNS 380 Behavioral Neuroendocrinology

An exploration of the interplay between hormones, the brain, and behavior. This course begins with an overview of the anatomy and physiology of the endocrine system followed by an explanation of hormone biochemistry and mechanisms of action. Students explore a number of topics including reproductive behaviors, addiction, stress, learning & memory, parenting behavior, aggression, and biological rhythms. A large focus is placed on sex differences and sex hormones (e.g., estrogen and testosterone).
