ENS 255 Contemplative Ecology & Conservation in Malaysian Borneo
Students will investigate Southeast Asian tropical forest ecology and conservation and the environmental challenges of biodiversity loss associated with industrial agriculture, natural resource consumption, and human disruption of nature in Borneo. We will also explore the complex ethical and psycho-behavioral conflict between indigenous folkways and modern forms of landscape usage, as well as contemplative immersion in nature.
