NRO 200 Introduction to Neural Science

A foundational course that provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles of neurophysiology and the basic units underlying the behavior of excitable cells in the nervous system. The course will provide students with an understanding of neuronal structure, how neurons generate and transmit electrical signals, and build synaptic connections, laying the groundwork for further exploration in the field of neuroscience. This course will be a Prerequisite for all courses in the neuroscience major. Pre-requisite: PSY 110 or PSY 111, CHE 131, CHE 132 or CHE 135. (CHE 132 or CHE 135 can be taken concurrently)
