REL 334 Islam in America

This course introduces students to some of the most important people, ideas, and events that have shaped Muslim communities in America. Toward that end, the class will spend a week travelling to meet high-profile Muslim scholars, imams, activists, and professionals in Kentucky, Atlanta, Washington D.C. and New York City. A diverse selection of readings, travels, and meetings provide students with a critical understanding of the variety of social, political and religious concerns facing Muslim American communities today.
