SOC 215 Religion in France

Students will understand how the history of France, particularly the relationship between the Church and the State, Catholicism as well as the development of French republicanism, continue to shape the religious landscape of the country today. Students will learn to use some sociological tools for analyzing religion and apply them to a French religious community, phenomenon or event.
