603 Layoffs, Furloughs and Recall

Under certain circumstances, it may become necessary to reduce staff for a limited or extended period of time. In these situations, attempts will be made to place employees in other vacant active positions consistent with the employee’s skills and the College’s job requirements. Any staff member impacted will be given a minimum of two weeks’ notice. Performance evaluations, the required skills, seniority, and the pertinent job knowledge possessed, will be the primary considerations in the event of any furlough, layoff or recall.
