Article X – Amendments

Section 1 - Amending the Constitution

  1. A list of student organizations entitled to be represented by a correspondent member of the House of Representatives set forth in Section 4C of Article VII of this Constitution may be changed by the vote of the Student Government Association upon the recommendation of the Executive Committee following any review by the Executive committee of the report of the ad hoc committee referred to in Section 5 of Article VI of this Constitution and this constitution may be amended to reflect any such change without the necessity of a vote of the student body.
  2. Proposals may be made for any other amendments to, or revision of, this Constitution by a majority vote of the Student Government Association membership at a general session at which a quorum is present or by one or more petitions from not less than fifteen percent of the student body.
  3. In order to become effective, all such amendments or revisions referred to in Section 1B of this Article shall be ratified by the affirmative vote of a majority of the student body. If so ratified, changes shall take effect upon the approval of the student body, pending Centre College approval.

Secton 2 - Amending the Bylaws

  1. The Bylaws of SGA may be amended by an affirmative two-thirds vote of SGA members present at a general session at which a quorum is present.
