Student Well-Being

Student well-being is a core value of the College and a strategic priority.  For information about new initiatives and investments in well-being, please check the website.  Well-being is not limited to one office or to specific staff as it is integrated throughout the Centre experience.  Well-being efforts include free and confidential counseling and student health services as well as educational and prevention programming and services through the Office of Health Promotion and spiritual well-being through the Office of Religious Life.  These offices work in collaboration with other faculty and staff to identify and implement opportunities to support a holistic approach to student well-being.

Beyond these efforts, two administrators guide the work of student well-being, the Associate Dean for Student Well-Being and the Assistant Dean for Student Well-Being.  The Associate Dean provides strategic direction and leadership for student well-being, including leadership for counseling services, wellness and prevention education, and student well-being advocacy. They are available to meet with individual students or with student groups to support efforts and collaborations that support student well-being

The Assistant Dean has an office in the Residence Life Office in Nevin Hall. This office is available to assist students in eliminating barriers that are hindering their success in and out of the classroom. These may include assistance in getting to an appointment, need for health care information, the correct campus office to find, or navigating the best way to find someone in the local community that can assist them.  The office is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. except for lunchtime, and the Assistant Dean can be reached at 859-238-5480.
