Dear students,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 academic year! I am so glad you are here. If it is your first time on campus, I am sure you are experiencing a mix of nervousness and excitement, but I hope you know that you are more than capable of all that lies ahead. If you are returning to campus, I know you are ready to take this semester head-on, and I look forward to seeing all you can accomplish. I, along with everyone else at Centre College, am rooting for you!
As a small liberal arts institution, Centre’s strength lies in the diversity of our community. We are enriched by artists, athletes, club members, Greek-affiliated students, researchers, student workers, and many more whom we are lucky to call our friends and peers. No matter who you are, we are all active contributors to each other’s journey at Centre College. With this in mind, I hope that you will fully embrace our community by having the curiosity to learn from one another and the generosity to help each other.
For the past 206 years, the students have always been what makes Centre so special. I am certain that our 207th year will be no different. Centre College is your home and belongs to you. Thus, we are all responsible for making Centre College a better place not just for ourselves but for others in the years to come. Smile often, work hard, and cheer loudly for everyone! Be bold advocates, speak up, and share ideas for improvement. Whether it is your first year or your final year, I encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to truly impact those around you.
As President of the Student Government Association (SGA), I am committed to ensuring that SGA’s work amplifies and advocates for the student voice. As the liaison between students and administrators, SGA is here to pursue all of your ideas and concerns. Your input is invaluable, so never hesitate to let us know what is on your mind. It is our job to make you feel at home at Centre by supporting our clubs, providing resources, and writing policy to enact meaningful change on campus. Before we know it, this year will be over. We are all destined to get caught up in our studies and commitments, so remember to take care of yourself and be kind to others. A smile and a thank you can make all the difference in someone’s day. When times get tough, always know that someone wanted you to be here at Centre College. You have a purpose, and you belong here. Never forget that.
