Student Government Association President Welcome

Dear students,

It is my honor to welcome you back to Centre College for the 2026-27 school year. Whether this is your first time on our campus or you are a returning senior, I wish you well in all your endeavors for the upcoming school year.
Make no mistake, you are bound to encounter many challenges this year. These challenges may come from your life at Centre, academic and social, or may come from your life outside of Centre. Regardless of the challenges you may face this year, I encourage you to lean upon the community you have here. Everyone’s community at Centre will look a little different.

Likewise, how you choose to utilize the community around you might look a little different, as well. Sometimes, it’s the little moments like office hours or Cowan-sitting. Sometimes, it’s the bigger decisions like joining a club, a sports team, or becoming affiliated with a Greek letter organization. Something I’ve learned throughout my Centre experience is to never underestimate the little moments and that oftentimes- they’re just as important as the big ones. Truly, it’s the little things that count. It’s the taking time for yourself, the going for a walk, the taking a step back that can provide the most unexpected (and positive) impacts to your Centre experience.

It’s often said that there’s a place for everyone at Centre. As President of the Centre College Student Government Association (SGA), it is my role to support and advocate for you regardless of where you fit into Centre’s community. And, if you don’t feel like there’s yet a place at Centre for you, I can support you in finding or creating one.
