Textbook Policies
The Centre College Bookstore sells and rents textbooks for classes offered at Centre College. Textbook purchases and rentals are fully refunded with a receipt within seven calendar days from the start of classes for Fall and Spring Terms and within two days from the start of classes for CentreTerm. Any textbook purchased or rented during the last week of classes or during exams is not refundable. Brytewave digital textbooks are returnable within 14 days of purchase.
The rental check-in date is the last day of finals each term, but rentals may be checked in prior to this date. Light highlighting and annotation is permissible in rental books. Rentals must be returned to the bookstore at check-in in saleable condition. They must not have any water damage, missing or torn pages, or broken spines. Books in poor condition at check-in should be converted to purchase.
New books, purchased or rented, must be returned in the same condition in which they were purchased or rented. They cannot be written in or underlined for a full refund. Highlighting is permissible in new book rentals provided they do not need to be returned for a full refund. Books with access codes cannot be returned for full refund inf the access code has been used.
Price matching is offered in the store at The Centre College Bookstore. Bring in a printed screenshot or ad shown via a mobile device for a textbook advertised at a lower price from a qualifying competing retailer, and receive the difference in price on a bookstore gift card. It must possess the identical textbook ISBN and be in stock at both locations. Price matching allows bookstore customers to apply price match funds to supplies or other needed course materials.
If you drop a class, a full refund will be made with a schedule change until the drop date. Within these time periods, textbooks are fully refundable when returned in the same condition as purchased. Used book buying guide prices are available if your return is outside of these guidelines.
It is highly recommended that students purchase their needed course materials by Midterm.
