ANT 360 GIS and Spatial Analysis
A problem-focused introduction to the concepts and applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Students learn how to ask research questions with spatial dimensions and evaluate how maps and spatial data are created and interpreted in disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, environmental studies, public health, and urban planning. Students learn to use ArcGIS, the industry-standard GIS software, to make maps and answer research questions about social and natural landscapes.
