ANT 459 Topics in Latin American Anthropology

This course takes an experiential ethnographic approach to questions of ethnicity, class, gender, religion, identity, globalization, social change, and other aspects of cultural practice in Latin America. Students read ethnographic literature and conduct their own projects utilizing participant observation, interviews, and other relevant methodologies, while placing their own observations in broader personal, social and historical contexts.
