CRW 110 Introduction to Creative Writing
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of imaginative writing across a variety of genres. In addition to exploring creative possibilities within traditional genres—poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction—we will also write in hybrid forms (the prose poem, lyric non-fiction, etcetera). Readings provide a foundation for class discussions on craft and the writing process. Creative assignments give students opportunities for experimentation, expansion, and revision. Students submit a portfolio of finished work at the end of the course.
