MAT 115 Statistics in Our Society
This course teaches students to evaluate data in real-world contexts. Emphasis is placed on responsible interpretation, clear communication, and informed decision-making. Topics include surveys and experiments, graphical and numerical summaries, ethical uses of data, one-sample inference, and the consumption of statistics in everyday life (e.g., news articles, policy reports, and academic research).
Prerequisite
No prior statistical background is required. Not available to students who have earned credit for MAT 130
