MUS 339 Germany: Romanticism and the Emotional Ideal

The music and art of Germany from the time of Beethoven through the year 1900 represented a changing, often turbulent society fueled by emotion. This course explores the tenants of Romanticism while visiting major museums, institutions, and symphony orchestras and operas in Western and Southern Germany.
