POL 270 The Congressional Experience: Policy Development and Strategic Engagement

The purpose of this course is to learn the different facets of Congressional operations and policymaking, including the legislative process, institutional norms and practices, Intergovernmental relationships, and stakeholder relations. Over the course of the semester, students will discuss the many different aspects of Congressional policymaking, hear from expert practitioners, participate in policymaking forums, engage with written material, and develop a final paper that integrates the cumulative course instruction. Offered in study-away program in Washington, D.C..
