Requirements for the Major

Engineering Courses

Take all of these courses:

EGR 110	Engineering Exploration	3
EGR 210	Introduction to Programming	4
EGR 215	Computer-Aided Design and Drafting	3
EGR 220	Statics
EGR 330	Engineering Materials	4
EGR 450	Capstone I: Project Management	3
EGR 452	Capstone Design II	4

Core Electives

Take two of the following courses:

EGR 320	Mechanics of Materials
EGR 322	Dynamics
PHY 370	Thermal Physics & Statistical Mechanics (four credit hours)	3
	OR
CHE 361	Thermodynamics and Kinetics	4
PHY 300	Introduction to Electronics	4
EGR 374	Fluid Mechanics

NOTE: If you take PHY 370/CHE 361 for one of the courses of this requirement, you may not take PHY 370/CHE 361 for the second course of this requirement. 

Design Electives

Take one of the following courses:

EGR 442	Structural Design	3
EGR 444	Mechanical Design	3

Any EGR Design course numbered between 440-449 may fulfill this requirement. 

Technical Electives

Take four of the following courses:

PHY 340	Advanced Mechanics	4
PHY 350	Advanced Electricity and Magnetism	4
PHY 380	Optics	4
ENS 240	Alternative Energy Technology	3
ENS 290	Environmental Geology	3
EGR	An additional EGR course numbered 300 or higher	3

Any Core Elective that was not taken to fulfill the Core Elective requirement may be taken to fulfill the course requirements under the Technical Elective requirement.
