BIO 376 Invasive Species
Invasive species can be found globally. In some cases, the consequences of their presence are dire and have led to the decimation of native species, but in others these organisms have provided enormous benefit to human society. Throughout this course we will discuss complex interactions between native and invasive species as well as human perception of invasive species and how that impacts management efforts. This course will cover what invasive species are, how they are transported, historical aspects, management, and a detailed discussion of some globally important invasive species, as well as those important in Kentucky. Prerequisites: BIO 110.
