BIO 386 Cancer BIology

Cancer is a complex disease that is characterized by a distinct set of phenotypes distinguishing cancer cells from normal cells. This course will cover the molecular basis for the acquisition of these phenotypes. Topics will include how alterations in normal cellular signaling pathways contribute to tumor formation, how tumors interact with other types of cells in the body, and cancer treatments. Group discussions of novel research in cancer biology will also take place.
